Intersect was devised in 2005 in response to a perceived need by its Principal, Sharon Schoneveld, for support services to the Qld non-government community sector.
Intersect is comprised of a team of experienced community work practitioners who offer professional and comprehensive consultancy services to individuals and organisations seeking support with their training and development needs.
Its Principal, Sharon Schoneveld, is a social worker with 25 years experience in the human services sector, specialising in health, mental health and disability.
Sharon is a social worker, counsellor, workplace assessor/trainer and a qualified Justice of the Peace. She has over 25 years in human service work in North and Central Qld, including the mental health and workplace rehabilitation sectors. She is a part time tutor at James Cook University in the social work program, and supervises students on placement. She is sought after as a facilitator of community meetings and forums, and conducted the Disability Week Action Awards in Mackay in 2009.
Associates of Intersect are contracted when necessary to undertake specialised projects and niche work, including submission writing, internal Quality audits and specifically identified training topics.
Based in Mackay but regional and metropolitan work is regularly undertaken.
