Effective Interpersonal Communication

A generic package which can be adapted for specific content depending on the needs of the participants. Elements can include:

• Working in teams

• Conflict management

• Dealing with difficult people

• Assertive communication
(“how to say what you want without losing friends”)

• Personality types

• Behavioural disorders

• Effective written communication

Training modes include facilitator led powerpoint discussions, role plays, interactive activities, reflective scenarios and small group work on case studies.

All elements contain some aspect of theory as a pre-cursor to the “how to” part of the topic.

The topic of “Working in teams” can comprise a session on its own – addressing personality types, conflict, assertiveness, role division etc – over a 4 or 6 hour period.

Duration: Flexible depending on topic areas – can be between 4 hours and 2 days

Numbers: Best between 6 and 20

Feedback sample:

“I thought this was very good. I had no idea about my personality type and how I came across to others! Bit of a shock, but something I can work on. Loved the ad lib performance by Sharon in the role play!”
